An icon of harsh winters, the Chapka combines tradition and performance. Born to defy the blizzard, it provides superior protection for the ears, temples and neck thanks to its iconic flaps. At Espace Cagoules, our collection of chapkas brings together the best insulating fabrics and technical finishes to offer long-lasting comfort, in the city as well as in the mountains.
Inspired by Russian chapkas and trappers' hats, the chapka has established itself as the winter headgear par excellence. It has conquered the world for a simple reason: it truly protects against the biting cold, without sacrificing elegance. Today, it adapts to all uses : urban outings, Nordic stays, resort skiing or nature trips.
In resort or hiking, it maintains the heat around the most exposed areas. Fleece linings, windproof collars and adjustable flaps reduce heat loss and improve comfort in strong winds.
In the Chapka Beanie or Chapka Cap version, it ensures a neat look and comfortable everyday wear. Water-repellent styles protect against light rain and wet snow, while remaining breathable.
The variations Chapka chasse favour the silence of the textiles, a covering cut and a stable support. The goal : to stay warm during long stationary stations.

Answers to common questions: material selection, compatibility, care and sizes.
For dry and intense cold: faux fur + fleece lining. For variable conditions: wool or wool/polyester blends (thermoregulation). For windproof rigidity and urban protection: water-repellent leather or textile exterior.
The Chapka covers ears, temples and neck thanks to the flaps, further limiting heat loss and the effect of the wind. A classic beanie protects the top of the head.
The bulky chapka is not designed to fit under a helmet. For skiing, choose a thin under-helmet hood. The chapka is best used without a helmet during breaks or après-ski.
Measure your head circumference (above the eyebrows, horizontally). Refer to the size guide: flaps and tightening systems offer room for adjustment. If you are unsure between two sizes, choose the larger one.
Wash gently at 30 °C (if allowed), air dry flat, lightly brush the faux fur. Avoid tumble drying and direct heat. Reactivate the water repellency of external tissues with a suitable spray if necessary.
