When the water drops below 10 degrees, thickness makes all the difference. AquaHood goes up to 7 mm of neoprene—the thickness used for cold-water dives—paired with an inner thermal fabric layer that traps heat against the skin. Its neck flap extends protection over the shoulders and upper torso, designed to slide under your wetsuit. Also available in 5 mm for less harsh waters.
AquaHood is the thickest hood in the range: its 7mm neoprene insulates where a 3mm or 5mm reaches its limit—ideal for winter dives and cold waters. The grid-patterned inner lining retains a thin layer of warm air against the head, while the neck flap seals the neck area where cold typically enters first. Rinse AquaHood with clean water after every dive, especially in the sea, to remove salt that can wear down the neoprene. Dry in the shade, flat or on a wide support, away from any direct heat source that could stiffen the material and damage the lining. Do not machine wash or spin-dry—this can deform the seams and the neck flap.

7 mm is the thickness for cold water and winter dives: it offers the best insulation in the range. 5 mm is enough for milder conditions. If you mostly dive in winter or in cold water, choose 7 mm.
It traps a thin layer of warm air against the skin and adds comfort when worn against the neoprene. Combined with the 7 mm thickness, it lets you stay in cold water for longer.
They let air escape at the moment you immerse. Without them, an air pocket forms under the hood, causing it to rise; the vents keep it in place on your head.
Measure your head circumference with a tape measure, about 1 cm above your ears, then refer to sizes S to 2XL (50 to 65 cm). The hood should fit snugly without being tight: well-fitted neoprene insulates better than an overly loose model.

The majority of our balaclavas are one-size-fits-all, as they incorporate materials such as Spandex or elastane into their composition. These stretchy fibers give them great elasticity, allowing the balaclava to easily adapt to different morphologies without compressing the face. For models requiring a choice of size, it is recommended to measure the head circumference with a tape measure. Position it about 1 cm above the ears to get the most accurate measurement and ensure a perfect fit.

Thanks to its unique resistance, it requires little maintenance. It does not wrinkle, resists UV rays from the sun, does not fade, and does not shrink. In short, it simplifies the life of its users.
Ice Silk. Ice silk is a blend of fibers that refers to a very breathable synthetic fabric designed to lower head temperature during intense exertion. To maintain your balaclava and prolong its life, avoid using water that is too hot when washing, as this can damage the fibers. Prefer a mild detergent in small quantities, as an excess can leave residues that irritate the skin. Never use aggressive bleaching agents or detergents that may degrade the material. Also avoid washing your hood too frequently in order to preserve its thermal insulation properties. Tumble drying is prohibited, as is direct drying in the sun, which can weaken fabrics and cause discoloration. Prefer natural drying in the open air, in the shade, by laying your hood flat to avoid any deformation. If spinning is necessary, gently squeeze out the excess water without twisting to keep its shape intact.
