Ptigloo replaces a hat, scarf and face covering in one piece. This kids winter balaclava with neck warmer is made from ribbed knit with a fleece lining and covers the head, ears and neck in one easy step. No more scarf dragging around the playground or hat left behind on a bench. One size for children aged 3 to 8, available in seven colors.
In the morning, the mask can be pulled up over the nose for the school run. At break time, it can be lowered under the chin and Ptigloo becomes a simple neck warmer. At weekends, with the hood and mask up, it is ready for sledding or snowy holidays. Fleece lines the entire inside, including the hood, so the face stays against a soft material rather than scratchy knit. For children under 3, Ora, our knitted baby balaclava, is designed for ages 3 to 36 months. More warm styles are available in our kids balaclava collection.
Material: polyester knitted fabric, fleece inner lining.
Size: one size, for children aged 3 to 8, hood circumference 54 cm.
Dimensions: hood height 20 cm, cords 32 cm.
Colors: light gray, dark gray, black, beige, camel, coffee and pink.
Gender: Unisex
Machine wash at 30°C on a gentle cycle, without fabric softener. Dry flat away from radiators to help the knit retain its shape and the fleece stay soft.
Before choosing Ptigloo, here are the questions parents ask us most often.
It is designed for children aged 3 to 8. The knit is stretchy and the hood circumference reaches 54 cm, allowing room for several winters. For babies, Ora is designed for ages 3 to 36 months.
No. The thick knit and fleece lining take up too much room under a helmet shell. Use Ptigloo for sledding, walks around the resort and après-ski, and choose a thin under-helmet balaclava for skiing.
It can be lowered under the chin in one movement, and children can do this themselves. Pull it over the nose when the wind bites and lower it again indoors or when running around.
Fleece lines the entire hood and mask, while the neck section replaces a scarf so there is no exposed gap between the coat and face. It is an ideal model to pack for a snowy holiday.
All seven shades are unisex. Black, gray and coffee work with almost any coat, while beige, camel and pink offer softer tones.

Choose options

The majority of our balaclavas are one-size-fits-all, as they incorporate materials such as Spandex or elastane into their composition. These stretchy fibers give them great elasticity, allowing the balaclava to easily adapt to different morphologies without compressing the face. For models requiring a choice of size, it is recommended to measure the head circumference with a tape measure. Position it about 1 cm above the ears to get the most accurate measurement and ensure a perfect fit.
Our hoods are designed to provide optimal protection against the elements while ensuring comfort and practicality during various outdoor activities. They are made from carefully selected materials to ensure effective thermal insulation, optimal breathability, and great durability, even in extreme temperature conditions. Here are the main materials used:
Spandex (elastane or Lycra) is resistant to sweat and water, making it an ideal choice for sportswear that requires quick moisture wicking. Additionally, this fiber is easy to care for as it is resistant to shrinking. It can be hand washed or machine washed.
Polyester. With highly absorbent fabric fibers designed against moisture, polyester textile products are reliable allies in rainy or humid weather. They are robust and tear very little. Thanks to its unique resistance, it requires little maintenance. It does not wrinkle, resists UV rays from the sun, does not fade, and does not shrink. In short, it simplifies the life of its users.
Ice Silk. Ice silk is a blend of fibers that refers to a very breathable synthetic fabric designed to lower head temperature during intense exertion. It is distinguished by its extremely soft and silky texture. This material is known for its breathability, lightness, and quick-drying capabilities. It offers a cool sensation on the skin, making it particularly appreciated for physical activities.
Milk Silk fabric is an innovative material made from milk proteins. It is often confused with other materials like polyester blended with silk or other synthetic fibers.
Soft Milk Velvet is an innovative and soft material that combines two distinct elements: milk silk and velvet. This combination offers a fabric that is both luxurious, soft to the touch, and comfortable, with interesting characteristics for clothing. Soft Milk Velvet is therefore a fabric of choice for luxurious, soft, and comfortable items, perfect for
warm clothing.
Fleece: is a very breathable fabric, allowing sweat to be wicked away from the body. Thus, moisture cannot remain inside the hood. Heat is retained. It can be used in any outdoor activities. Hand washable or machine washable.
Cationic Fleece is a polyester fleece, soft, warm, and durable, with good thermal insulation and resistance to pilling. It effectively wicks moisture and offers a modern heathered look, ideal for technical and outdoor clothing.
Coral Fleece: Coral Fleece is a revolution in the world of comfort and well-being with its fine and soft texture, free from lint and pilling and without discoloration. Designed to offer exceptional water absorption, three times greater than that of cotton products, it envelops you in unparalleled comfort. Say goodbye to skin irritations and allergies thanks to its hypoallergenic composition.
Cotton + Polyester. Polyester does not shrink or change shape like cotton. This blend is easier to wash and dry. And thanks to the cotton component of the blend, cotton-polyester hoods are more breathable and can be
hand washed or machine washed.
Polyamide (nylon) + spandex (elastane). Polyamide is strong, lightweight, does not shrink in washing, and dries quickly in the open air. Spandex ensures quick moisture wicking, while the breathability and elasticity of the fabric guarantee a perfect fit and lasting comfort.

Cotton is an essential material. The properties of its plant fiber have many advantages. It is hypoallergenic and healthy for the skin. Cotton fabric is recommended for sensitive skin. It allows the skin to breathe while absorbing moisture and sweat. It is flexible, soft, and comfortable.
Rayon is a semi-synthetic textile fiber obtained from natural cellulose, usually derived from wood pulp. The manufacturing process involves dissolving the cellulose before reconstituting it into fibers for weaving. This is why rayon is often referred to as "artificial silk." Rayon can be sensitive to shrinking and wrinkling, and therefore requires delicate care.
Merino wool is a premium material with multiple advantages, ideal for technical clothing and accessories like hoods. It provides exceptional thermoregulation, maintaining an optimal body temperature in all seasons. Its unmatched softness is suitable for sensitive skin, and its breathable properties wick moisture while limiting unpleasant odors. Lightweight, compact, and insulating even when wet, it is perfect for outdoor activities. Naturally resistant, hypoallergenic, and eco-friendly, it also offers protection against UV rays (up to UPF 50).

To maintain your balaclava and prolong its life, avoid using water that is too hot when washing, as this can damage the fibers. Prefer a mild detergent in small quantities, as an excess can leave residues that irritate the skin. Never use aggressive bleaching agents or detergents that may degrade the material. Also avoid washing your hood too frequently in order to preserve its thermal insulation properties. Tumble drying is prohibited, as is direct drying in the sun, which can weaken fabrics and cause discoloration. Prefer natural drying in the open air, in the shade, by laying your hood flat to avoid any deformation. If spinning is necessary, gently squeeze out the excess water without twisting to keep its shape intact.
