Our balaclava for ski helmet PolarSnow is designed for riders who demand efficiency and simplicity on the slopes. Made to be worn over the helmet, it provides reliable thermal insulation without overheating, a carefully designed ergonomics that does not obstruct vision or movement, and consistent breathability during exertion. Whether you're hitting the runs on a snowboard, enjoying long days of skiing, or trekking in winter, this balaclava ensures comfort and protection thanks to its soft and protective fleece. Unisex and one size fits all, PolarSnow stabilizes the temperature around the face and neck while maintaining a clean and stable fit, even in windy conditions and crowded lifts.
Unlike a traditional balaclava worn under the helmet, PolarSnow is a balaclava over ski helmet whose enveloping cut respects the geometry of the shell and avoids pressure points. The face remains well protected thanks to the unique opening while the elongated base creates an effective barrier against air drafts in the neck. The fleece retains heat even during breaks and does not compress the thickness of your mid-layers. The result: constant comfort, less handling at lifts, and intuitive setup with the goggles. For powder sessions, carving, or freeride, this design limits snow intrusion while preserving head mobility. PolarSnow is thus a relevant choice for those looking for an effective ski balaclava over helmet and snowboard, unisex, easy to use, and durable, designed for truly cold conditions.
Wash your helmet balaclava at 30 °C, gentle cycle, without fabric softener or bleach. Air dry flat. Avoid ironing and tumble drying to preserve the loft and longevity of the fleece.

Yes, the cut is designed for most ski and snowboard helmets. The fleece hugs the shell without creating annoying folds or compressing the head circumference.
PolarSnow is worn over the shell: no extra pressure, quicker setup, increased protection for the nape, and less air infiltration. For a thin model to wear under the helmet, check out our ski under-helmets instead.
Yes. For younger ones, the KidAlpin ski balaclava for children follows the same protection principle in a size suitable for them.
The fleece prioritizes moisture wicking and limits condensation. You maintain regular breathing both uphill and downhill.
Yes. The elongated base forms a protective collar that reduces air entry at the nape and integrates under the jacket or down jacket.
The model is unisex and one size fits all: the elasticity and cut allow for a comfortable fit for most adult head circumferences.

Choose options

The majority of our balaclavas are one-size-fits-all, as they incorporate materials such as Spandex or elastane into their composition. These stretchy fibers give them great elasticity, allowing the balaclava to easily adapt to different morphologies without compressing the face. For models requiring a choice of size, it is recommended to measure the head circumference with a tape measure. Position it about 1 cm above the ears to get the most accurate measurement and ensure a perfect fit.
Our hoods are designed to provide optimal protection against the elements while ensuring comfort and practicality during various outdoor activities. They are made from carefully selected materials to ensure effective thermal insulation, optimal breathability, and great durability, even in extreme temperature conditions. Here are the main materials used:
Spandex (elastane or Lycra) is resistant to sweat and water, making it an ideal choice for sportswear that requires quick moisture wicking. Additionally, this fiber is easy to care for as it is resistant to shrinking. It can be hand washed or machine washed.
Polyester. With highly absorbent fabric fibers designed against moisture, polyester textile products are reliable allies in rainy or humid weather. They are robust and tear very little. Thanks to its unique resistance, it requires little maintenance. It does not wrinkle, resists UV rays from the sun, does not fade, and does not shrink. In short, it simplifies the life of its users.
Ice Silk. Ice silk is a blend of fibers that refers to a very breathable synthetic fabric designed to lower head temperature during intense exertion. It is distinguished by its extremely soft and silky texture. This material is known for its breathability, lightness, and quick-drying capabilities. It offers a cool sensation on the skin, making it particularly appreciated for physical activities.
Milk Silk fabric is an innovative material made from milk proteins. It is often confused with other materials like polyester blended with silk or other synthetic fibers.
Soft Milk Velvet is an innovative and soft material that combines two distinct elements: milk silk and velvet. This combination offers a fabric that is both luxurious, soft to the touch, and comfortable, with interesting characteristics for clothing. Soft Milk Velvet is therefore a fabric of choice for luxurious, soft, and comfortable items, perfect for
warm clothing.
Fleece: is a very breathable fabric, allowing sweat to be wicked away from the body. Thus, moisture cannot remain inside the hood. Heat is retained. It can be used in any outdoor activities. Hand washable or machine washable.
Cationic Fleece is a polyester fleece, soft, warm, and durable, with good thermal insulation and resistance to pilling. It effectively wicks moisture and offers a modern heathered look, ideal for technical and outdoor clothing.
Coral Fleece: Coral Fleece is a revolution in the world of comfort and well-being with its fine and soft texture, free from lint and pilling and without discoloration. Designed to offer exceptional water absorption, three times greater than that of cotton products, it envelops you in unparalleled comfort. Say goodbye to skin irritations and allergies thanks to its hypoallergenic composition.
Cotton + Polyester. Polyester does not shrink or change shape like cotton. This blend is easier to wash and dry. And thanks to the cotton component of the blend, cotton-polyester hoods are more breathable and can be
hand washed or machine washed.
Polyamide (nylon) + spandex (elastane). Polyamide is strong, lightweight, does not shrink in washing, and dries quickly in the open air. Spandex ensures quick moisture wicking, while the breathability and elasticity of the fabric guarantee a perfect fit and lasting comfort.

Cotton is an essential material. The properties of its plant fiber have many advantages. It is hypoallergenic and healthy for the skin. Cotton fabric is recommended for sensitive skin. It allows the skin to breathe while absorbing moisture and sweat. It is flexible, soft, and comfortable.
Rayon is a semi-synthetic textile fiber obtained from natural cellulose, usually derived from wood pulp. The manufacturing process involves dissolving the cellulose before reconstituting it into fibers for weaving. This is why rayon is often referred to as "artificial silk." Rayon can be sensitive to shrinking and wrinkling, and therefore requires delicate care.
Merino wool is a premium material with multiple advantages, ideal for technical clothing and accessories like hoods. It provides exceptional thermoregulation, maintaining an optimal body temperature in all seasons. Its unmatched softness is suitable for sensitive skin, and its breathable properties wick moisture while limiting unpleasant odors. Lightweight, compact, and insulating even when wet, it is perfect for outdoor activities. Naturally resistant, hypoallergenic, and eco-friendly, it also offers protection against UV rays (up to UPF 50).
Yes, we offer free shipping on all your orders, with no minimum purchase. To maintain your balaclava and prolong its life, avoid using water that is too hot when washing, as this can damage the fibers. Prefer a mild detergent in small quantities, as an excess can leave residues that irritate the skin. Never use aggressive bleaching agents or detergents that may degrade the material. Also avoid washing your hood too frequently in order to preserve its thermal insulation properties. Tumble drying is prohibited, as is direct drying in the sun, which can weaken fabrics and cause discoloration. Prefer natural drying in the open air, in the shade, by laying your hood flat to avoid any deformation. If spinning is necessary, gently squeeze out the excess water without twisting to keep its shape intact.
