Russian chapka for men Sibérius takes the silhouette of the traditional ushanka and doubles it with genuine rabbit fur. The ear flaps fold down over the ears when the cold hits, or lift up and fasten on top when the day warms up. Rabbit fur forms a dense layer around the head and over the ears—precisely where the cold attacks first. When folded down, the ear flaps cover the ears and the upper part of the cheeks and block the wind; when lifted up and tied on top, they expose the face for milder temperatures or indoor travel. Genuine fur requires dry cleaning by a professional. Avoid the washing machine and don’t place the chapka against a radiator or any direct heat source, which can dry out the fur. A soft brush, used in the direction of the fur, restores volume. When it’s out of season, store it in a dry, well-ventilated place, away from prolonged exposure to sunlight.

For models requiring a choice of size, it is recommended to measure the head circumference with a tape measure. Position it about 1 cm above the ears to get the most accurate measurement and ensure a perfect fit.

To maintain your balaclava and prolong its life, avoid using water that is too hot when washing, as this can damage the fibers. Prefer a mild detergent in small quantities, as an excess can leave residues that irritate the skin. Never use aggressive bleaching agents or detergents that may degrade the material. Also avoid washing your hood too frequently in order to preserve its thermal insulation properties. Tumble drying is prohibited, as is direct drying in the sun, which can weaken fabrics and cause discoloration. Prefer natural drying in the open air, in the shade, by laying your hood flat to avoid any deformation. If spinning is necessary, gently squeeze out the excess water without twisting to keep its shape intact.
